Jeremy Flores ready for Chile
The Foster’s ASP World Tour is definitely on and our one and only european on tour Jérémy Flores will soon hit Chile for the Rip Curl Search WCT event which will take place in Arica, northern border of the country.
The ninteen-year-old man, 2006 World Qualifying Series Champion, has already prooved all his potential and rise in the three past events, as he currently sits in 9th position on the ratings, with 1742 points. After several big results including his victory over eight-times world champion Kelly Slater in round 4 of the Tahiti Billabong Pro, Jérémy is still learning from some of the best surfers ever, including three times world champion Andy Irons (Haw) and current world leader Mick Fanning (Aus).
Surrounded by the masters of the sport, young Flores will fly from France, where he relaxed after achieveing his best result of the year so far when he reached the quarterfinals in Tahiti, to discover Chile and the much awaited Rip Curl Search WCT event.
The location is already announced as one of the hottest waves of South America, and some solid deep barrels are expected to welcome the elite of surfing from June 20th to Juliy 1st. Jérémy Flores will once again lead European surfing and remind the rest of the world the rise of the old continent on the World Qualifying Series isn’t just an illusion. He’s just waiting for his mates to catch up with him and get on with history!
The race of the champions remains really tight as we keep moving towards the midyear point. The current top 10 surfers are all in reach of the ultimate world title even if Fanning has an advantage. With four newcomers in the top 15 so far, the hierarchy is fragile and Jérémy Flores could be one reason of a suddent change. Keep a close watch…
The Rip Curl Search WCT Chile will be LIVE at www.ripcurl.com! Log on from June 20 and enjoy the action brought to you by the best 45 surfers of the blue planet.
